Title: Enchantment at Midnight

Price: $30 (includes shipping)
Size: 19 ½" x 17 ¼" (with border)

The design of Enchantment At Midnight came to the artist instantaneously upon reading a passage from Puck of Pook's Hill, by Rudyard Kipling: "The People of the Hills have all left. I saw them come into Old England and I saw them go. Giants, trolls, kelpies, brownies, goblins, imps; wood, tree, mound, and water-spirits..."

Within the painting are ideas associated with magic and fairies: A full moon, crystals, flowers and mushrooms, and the portent of a comet. About the garden are five "William Morris flowers" in honor of the 19th century designer, writer, and Socialist and one of the artist's primary artistic inspirations. Trish has a strong affinity with the work of certain artists and writers working in England during the 18th and 19th centuries. Other artistic and literary influences include Lewis Carroll, John Tenniel, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and Arthur Conan Doyle.
